Release Notes

This skin object was created to test the new DNN8 default.css on an older DNN install.
That allows you to see the effect of this new style sheet before you upgrade your site and gives us feedback on the changes.

Please note that due to time constraints only the CSS for non DNN elements has been removed from default.css.
There is no time to completely restructure the remaining CSS because of the proposed launch date of DNN 8 (and Q&A testing).
But the proposed changes to the Client Resource Management will essentially add versioning to default.css.
(more on this later)

The skin object will render a dropdown to dynamically replace your current frameworks default.css with the proposed new DNN8 default.css
The dropdown has 3 options.

DNN7 > Default stylesheet of DNN7
DNN8 > Default stylesheet of DNN8
DNN8+ > Default stylesheet of DNN8 plus a small legacy style sheet with some of the removed DNN7 CSS.
This legacy CSS will be the basis of the CSS we will advise skinners to copy to their skin to make it work in DNN8.

What to look for:
Check for changes to the general layout of the page and the DNN admin interface, by switching the dropdown.
Please let us know if you see any differences between the DNN7 And the DNN8 selection.
Also check if these are still an issue in the DNN8+ setting.

Download the Install package
Install as a regular DNN extension (Host > Extensions)

The skin object can be used in two ways.

You can add it to your skin.
You can add it to default.aspx (so it shows up on all portals / skins)

You need to add this on top of your skin or default.aspx:
<%@ Register TagPrefix="dnn" TagName="TDSS" src="~/DesktopModules/40Fingers/SkinObjects/TestDefaultStylesheet/tdss.ascx" %>

Then add this:
<dnn:TDSS HostOnly="True" runat="server"></dnn:TDSS>

In a skin just after the register lines.
In default.aspx, just after the body (opening) tag.

The skin object has one attribute; "HostOnly".
When true the dropdown will only be injected for Host users, meaning you could even test this on live sites.
